David O.Houston II - Bishop

On November 7, 1974, David Houston, Jr. was born in San Leandro, California, to the proud parents David and Ruby Houston. He is the oldest child born to his union. Bishop Elect David Houston comes from a family that believed and taught Biblical principals, and exhibited Christian examples with the home. In November of 1998, just before Bishop Elect David Houston, Jr. 24th birthday, he accepted the Lord as his personal Savior and received the baptism of the Holy Ghost, a few months later. In East Palo Alto, California, Bishop Elect David Houston, Jr. received his Christian foundation under the late Superintendent Albert C. Macklin, III (Dad Macklin) of New Sweet Home Church of God in Christ.

After a Sunday morning service in 1999, Bishop Elect David Houston, Jr. told Pastor Houston that she was going to be his wife (speaking those things that were not as though they were, being that Bishop Elect David Houston, Jr. and Pastor Houston were not dating at the time). January 1, 2000, at mid-night, New Years Eve, our late Dad Macklin had the honor of giving us to marriage at exactly 12:15 a.m. It was a total surprise to most of our church family. Dad Macklin told all those who came to worship at our Watch Meet Service in 1999, do not leave, I have a surprise at the end of the service. To this union is born David, III., Darian, D’Anthony and Daniel Houston. Bishop Elect David Houston is a proud father of 5 sons, one who resides in Glendale, Arizona, Keshawn Younger.

Bishop Elect David Houston, Jr. love for ministry began under the late Superintendent Albert C. Macklin, III (Dad Macklin) of New Sweet Home Church of God in Christ. Bishop Elect David Houston, Jr. and Pastor Houston served as Youth Directors at New Sweet Home for 6 years. Bishop Elect David Houston, Jr. was called to ministry in 2002, under the leadership of the late Superintendent Albert C. Macklin, III (Dad Macklin). Bishop Elect David Houston served under Dad Macklin faithfully as his Armour Bearer and Minister . Dad Macklin taught Bishop Elect David Houston, how to preach the word of God with Understanding and Power, how to walk before men and women of God with integrity and to love Gods people. During the re-modeling of New Sweet Home Church of God in Christ, Dad Macklin showed Bishop Elect David Houston how to knock out window frames and how to hang sheet rock. Favorite quote “Houston, it’s always nice to be nice.” After the Home Going Celebration of the late Superintendent Albert C. Macklin, III (Dad Macklin), Bishop Elect David Houston passed the torch of the Youth Ministry into the hands of Sister Houston, to focus on Ministry under Pastor Albert C. Macklin IV. Bishop Elect David Houston served faithfully as Sunday School Superintendent and Adjutant to Pastor Albert C. Macklin IV until 2007, when the Lord directed Bishop Elect David Houston and family to Grace Temple Memorial Church of God in Christ, in the city of East Palo Alto, CA under the leadership of the late Superintendent Clifton McCalister.

Under the leadership of the late Superintendent Clifton McCalister, Bishop Elect David Houston was appointed over the District Evangelist Department, which included a one-night revival as the kick off to the District Meeting. Pastor McCalister allowed Bishop Elect David Houston to use his God given gifts and talents to fulfill purposes and growths for the Grace Temple family. Pastor McCalister, on several occasions gave Bishop Elect David Houston the opportunity to go forth in the anointing on the local, district and state levels.

After the Home Going Celebration of the late Superintendent Clifton McCalister, Bishop Elect David Houston and family served faithfully under Head Deacon Scottie Fields during the transition. In January of 2010, Bishop Elect David Houston and Pastor Houston shared in being ordained under the California Western Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction. In June of 2010 the Lord appointed Superintendent Leo Smith over the Grace Temple Memorial Church. Bishop Elect David Houston was appointed Chief Adjutant in both the local church and district. Bishop Elect David Houston and family served faithfully in their positions, until the Lord spoke a word on December 30, 2010, the Lord called Bishop Elect David Houston to his Pastoral Appointment. On February 16, 2011, the birthing of Kingdom Building Outreach Ministries came forth. Bishop Elect David Houston was serving faithful as Pastor and the lord begin to tug at his heart concerning a higher elevation.  After much wrestling and denying the call for months on end until the lord visited him in a vision. Bishop Elect repented unto the lord and accepted his call as Bishop Elect in the month of January 2014. The Lord spoke into the heart of Bishop Elect David Houston to relocate KBOM to the city of Stockton. KBOM moved to the city of Stockton January 1, 2015.  On January 3, 2016, Bishop David O. Houston was appointed Pastor over The Second Baptist church of Stockton.

3. To create a Christian community of children and adults who enjoy life together as a family and who are committed to Jesus Christ and to teach others.

4. To help children trust Christ as Savior, to submit to him and to live as Christians at home, at school, at play or wherever they are.

5. To help children build proper relationships to authorities in their lives

Tammy Spears - Singles Ministry Leader

Singles Ministry

Vision Statement- The bible has several scripture about vision and we all need to tap in what the Lord has given us.  As the bible say in Habakkuk 2:2 And the Lord answered me, and said, write the vision and make it plain upon tables, the he may run that readeth it.

As the bible say in Habakkuk 2:2 and the Lord answered me, and said, write the vision and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.

My vision for the single ministry is that everyone on the group walk in their calling that God gave  them without waivering and thinking they can't serve God without a partner. In Corinthians 7:32-35 but I would have you without carefulness. He that is unmarried careth for the things that belong to the Lord, how he may please the Lord.

You can give your all to God while you are single waiting on your partner. Not worrying about the things of the world, no distraction. To serve him whole heartly and make sure that you wait on the Lord. 2 Corinthians 6:14 say be not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness and what communion hath light with darkness. We want to be pleasing in God sight.

Goals for Ministry

  • Create a church culture that value singles
  • Preach positively about singleness
  • Don't segregate singles
  • Put singles in positions of responsibility
  • Offer social events

Events

  • Social Outing
